Internationally Recognized Standards
The Occupational Standards in Disability Management developed in 1999 identified two levels of occupation in the field of disability management: Certified Return to Work Coordinators and Certified Disability Management Professionals. These standards were developed with the input of employers, workers' compensation boards, unions, disability managers and government agencies from across Canada. Representatives from disability management-related organizations in Australia, New Zealand and the United States also participated. In Canada, the standards have been endorsed by a broad cross-section of corporations, workers' compensation boards and unions. The standards are recognized internationally and have been published in Dutch, English, French and German.
